Coronation celebrations and display at CCYD
In Conjunction with Ynysawdre community council, the art department and learners at CCYD
created an origami art installation to celebrate the coronation of King Charles.
Learners made hundreds of origami butterflies in red white and blue, which were displayed
on the front of the school over the bank holiday weekend.
The theme was chosen because butterflies are a symbol of hope and new beginnings. Also,
King Charles is a keen conservationist and has worked to promote butterfly conservation in
the UK. Learners thoroughly enjoyed mastering the new origami technique and were proud
of the final creation.
The student Support department had a lovely time at the coronation party today- organised by Mrs Archer. pic.twitter.com/rivV25T4QO
