Ospreys Tackle Group visit Swansea.com
As part of the educational unit and ongoing scheme of work linking with outside businesses, CCYD pupils were able to visit Swansea.com today. We were met by Mel, Joe and Tilley, the Ospreys Employability Officers who introduced us to the tour of the vast and prestigious building, each room being explained in its function with the jobs roles behind the running of it.
This included everything from reception to the media room where pupils took place in a mock TV interview. Also physio room and player’s changing rooms, trying on previous designs of jerseys discussing the technology/ history behind them. Lastly, going pitch-side and learning about the ground’s staff and how the pitch surface is prepared for each game of rugby and football.
Afterwards we were invited to one of the visitor boxes to complete a well-being task and discuss the information we had gained during the tour.
There was a lively conversation about the information we had gathered and a competition on the work produced. Two of the pupil groups won tickets to the next Ospreys v Zebre rugby game in March.
In all, a very interesting and productive day, a fitting way to end the half term of work.
A huge thank you to the pupils and staff involved who allow us to continue to run the program and make progress on each session.
