Ospreys Tackle Group Visit Pencoed College
The CCYD Tackle group were invited to Pencoed College to view the new STEAM facilities and find out about the courses available after GCSEs on the campus. We had a warm welcome at the academy facilities where our tour began. This is a flagship for Bridgend College, it presents 21st century teaching and learning, which offers Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. In a very comfortable and futuristic environment, with lots on offer.
We saw some courses on offer such as Electronics, Mechanics, Media, Carpentry, land based courses and sport. Also we could speak to a large range of staff from the various departments, who freely gave their time to advise on the courses and opportunities, we were the first school group to access the new facilities.
The pupils were keen to engage and benefited from the advice on offer from the very knowledgeable staff. The pupils agreed that it was hugely beneficial to be able to visit the premises in person and see what’s on offer first hand.
