CCYD achieves Food & Fun Bronze Award
CCYD received the Food & Fun Quality Mark Bronze Award following our successful summer holiday provision.
Food and Fun is a school-based education programme that provides food and nutrition education, physical activity, enrichment sessions and healthy meals to children during the school summer holidays.
This year we had roughly 25 learners attend, completing activities such as puppet making, healthy pizza making, bug hunting, outdoor games and many more. This year we also had external groups in to do workshops and lessons with the learners, including the Police to teach and talk about internet safety, Zac Dance workshops, Keir team building and school staff (Mrs Oliver from art, and Ms Williams from Food and nutrition who volunteered their own holiday time to help and support and facilitate these workshops) with clay modelling and healthy pitta pizzas.
A massive thank you to Gaynor for being this year’s coordinator, as well as all the staff that helped support the programme and learners.
