Dare2Explore – Food for thought
Today learners were challenged to make a cooked breakfast in an industrial kitchen – together, as a team. So the tasks began with taking orders of favourite foods, preparation of the ingredients, timing, laying tables, mixing, cooking, the best bit eating and lastly dishes!
Everyone took a task and followed this through. They worked together and helped each other, with their work and learners challenged themselves to taste new foods and encourage each other.
Another very enjoyable session which left learners wondering where the time went (again most adults who cook at home can relate) and enjoying the whole experience, commenting that they were doing more than they thought they could.
There is more to follow as the confidence grows in these learners and this is becoming more evident in the feedback they give weekly, whereby they are able to choose some of the tasks they want to accomplish in the next session.
Move over Gordon Ramsey, CCYD is coming. Gwych!
