Rugby Leaders Cluster Festival
CCYD rugby leaders were invited to Lawrence Park in Pontycymmer this week for a junior school tag rugby festival, run by the Ospreys in the Community Charity, via the Primary school link Charlie Mundy. This involved three of the CCYD feeder schools, who were Bettws, Ffaldau and Blaengarw primary schools.
The aim is to encourage and support pupils of all abilities to get involved in and enjoy the activity of tag rugby. Pupils also get a chance to meet their peers from other schools in the valley area. CCYD learners enhance their coaching skills by refereeing as well as passing on the knowledge they have gained in the sport by playing off field games with the rotating groups.
There was so much interaction over the day in a beautiful setting. Sport was the winner of the day.
Thank you to all staff who put in the hard work to organise the event, supervise over the course of the day and make sure the event was successful from all schools. A great team effort from all involved.
