World Champions at CCYD

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of three exceptional martial artists who represented Wales at the International World Combat Championships 2025 in Swansea. Sophie Blackwell stunned the world by becoming World Champion in TWO disciplines, extreme weapons and extreme creative forms, showcasing unmatched skill, determination, and versatility, Sophie then went on to win a Silver medal for Creative Weapons, Bronze Medal for Creative Form, Bronze Medal for Traditional Form, Bronze Medal for Traditional Weapons, Bronze Medal for Fighting and a 4th Place in the Grand Champions open hand Forms. Will Hinkin earned a bronze medal in Creative Weapons, impressing judges with his precision and artistry. Louie Kinsey fought his way to a bronze medal in Fighting, demonstrating true grit and warrior spirit. These athletes have not only brought pride to Wales but have also inspired a new generation of martial artists. Diolch yn fawr and congratulations to all three!
