6th Form Bus Travel Arrangements for Sept
Unfortunately due to funding cuts which are beyond the schools control, 6th form learners will no longer have access to free school transport from September across Bridgend. This will impact some of our learners.
Despite our efforts to try to save the transport for our 6th form we have been advised that as of September, 6th Form learners can no longer access the school buses as they would normally do.
There is a link below to First Bus Cymru for a new cheaper initiative that the Welsh Government is offering to 16-21 year olds for public transport. We can also offer our 6th formers free access to our homework club buses which leave CCYD at approximately 3:50pm Mondays to Thursdays. This will give our 6th formers additional time for supported study and access to the facilities.
Induction day for year 13 is on Tuesday 2nd September and for year 12 it is Wednesday 3rd September. Mrs Rhian Wilson will be Head of 6th Form from September and is looking forward to working with our 6th Form learners.
Staff will be on hand to answer any questions during the summer results days on the 14th August for Year 12/13 and 21st August for Year 11. We look forward to seeing you in September ready for the next step in your journey!
To access the £1 per journey travel from September 1st learners will have to register for a free ‘my travel pass’ online. Remember this can also be used on weekends and holidays too for bus journeys anywhere within wales.
