School Uniform
We encourage all our learners to ‘Take Pride’ in their appearance by wearing the correct school uniform every day.
A high standard of personal appearance is expected of all learners and anyone arriving at school in non-uniform clothing can expect to be sanctioned unless an explanatory note is received.
It is important that the standard of uniform reflects a pride and sense of belonging in the school and presents our learners in the best possible light to visitors and the wider community.
Full school uniform is always expected so please make sure your child wears the correct uniform and adheres to the uniform code. No facial piercings are allowed along with non-natural hair colouring (blue or pink etc).
Hoodies are not part of our school uniform and will be confiscated if worn to school. Please ensure your child wears a sensible coat for wet and cold periods.
• Uniform gives learners a sense of belonging to a particular school and creates an identity for the school in the community.
• Uniform shows that you are part of an organisation.
• A school uniform teaches learners to dress smartly and take pride in their appearance.
• Uniforms help learners to prepare for the world of work where they may have to dress smartly or wear a uniform.
Most importantly, a uniform means learners don’t have to worry about peer pressure when it comes to their clothes. There is no competition about being dressed in the latest trend, which would put a great deal of financial pressure on learners and their parents/carers. Potential bullies have one less target for their insults; it’s hard to make fun of what someone is wearing when you are dressed the same.
