The department runs ‘IT Club’ most lunch times where students can come to use the computers to complete work. After school ‘catch up’ and revision sessions run on a Tuesday and Wednesday night and after Christmas we will be starting a Computer Club for year 7 students who are interested in learning more about Computer Science.

ICT is no longer the future, it is the here and now. It connects all areas of the curriculum and, whatever our students do when they leave us, they will need to be ICT literate. ICT is not just a requirement for most jobs, but is ever more essential in a world which is becoming increasingly dependent on technology.
Both ICT and Business Studies have a strong history of exam success and are very popular subjects with large numbers of students opting to continue their studies to GCSE and A Level.
The ICT teaching team is a good mix of new and experienced teachers who offer a range of expertise ranging from spreadsheets and databases; through multimedia skills such as digital imaging, animation and video editing; to programming and building a computer. We are committed to ensuring that all learners leave us with, at least, a basic competence in ICT. We understand that ICT is a rapidly changing subject and have the enthusiasm and flexibility to change with it.
