Uplifting visit to Ty Ynysawdre

I wanted to report a very pleasant and uplifting visit to Ty Ynysawdre today.  We had a very informative and lively discussion with residents regarding family, the differences between sport, school ‘now and then’ also St David’s Day traditions.

As this was our first visit, we explained that we were part of a sport “Tackle” group supported by the Ospreys in the Community and discussed the options available to pupils now compared to previous generations. The difference were noted and further discussion came from explaining what residents previous enjoyed, didn’t enjoy and missed! They were interested in listening to pupils and how they can now be educated through sport, though in particular Ospreys Tackle Group. The pupils fed back after the session that they learned a lot and were surprised at some of the differences.

I would like to thank the residents of Ty Ynysawdre – Trudie Davies and Kay Rees for allowing the visit, which was enjoyed by all – even finishing off with the song “Sweet Caroline”.

We very much hope we can keep up with the new connection we made with the next Tackle group starting in the spring.
