Tackle Project/Royal Navy at CCYD
We were fortunate enough to have a visit from the Royal Navy today in conjunction with the Ospreys Tackle Engagement Officer, Mel Sartain and WRU rugby hub Officer Chris Dicomidis. The session supported health and well-being as well as continuing to improve on communication skills and discussions on how to handle stress.
We took part in a number of exercises which helped discuss and demonstrate the best solution to the issues mentioned, which are common to school age pupils, as well as what may affect our family lives and extended support network.
The pupils were very mature in their approach and discussion was lively with very good solutions coming to the forefront of the session. All pupils were able to demonstrate they had listened and taken on board the issues discussed, another vital communication skill.
We thank all the staff able to take part today and look forward to further sessions with the Royal NavyOspreys Tackle whist continuing to improve our relationship with outside visiting staff. Pupils reported they have very much enjoyed today’s session.
