Staff Bereavement
Dear Parent/Carer,
I am very sorry to have to inform you that a much-respected member of our support staff Miss Kathryn Williams has sadly died. This was completely unexpected and our thoughts are with her family at this time.
All of our learners were told today and many have been distressed to hear this news. No one wants to see children upset, but we are very aware that factual information and emotional support are the best means of helping them deal with bereavement. Along with staff, we also have a team of experts on site to help individuals deal with this sad news.
When someone dies, their family and friends have lots of feelings, sadness, anger and confusion which are all common. Our learners have been told that their teachers are willing to try and answer their questions at school; but if there is anything else your child needs to know, please do not hesitate to contact the school office. You will also find some useful advice and resources online at www.childbereavement.org.uk .
I am sorry to be the bearer of this sad news, and I appreciate that an occurrence like this impacts on the whole school community. It is important that we continue to work together to guide and support all of our learners through this difficult time.
Yours sincerely,
Tracey Wellington
