Native American art and culture at CCYD
Learners in 8Y3 have been busy creating this quirky and imaginative totem pole. They have been learning about Native American art and culture and were set the challenge of using recycled plastics to create a class totem pole. In line with the new curriculum, the project aimed to stretch and challenge the learners, encourage creativity and develop enterprise skills. The class members also had the opportunity to discuss the harmful effects of plastic pollution and the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling plastics. The team work and resilience shown by the learners was impressive, as was the quality of the final piece.
