Firstly I hope you and your families are safe and well during these unprecedented times.
Secondly, I would like to thank you for your patience with regards to refunds for the cancelled Italy tour. I know that there has not been a lot of correspondence during lockdown, so I thought I would give you a quick update.
The matter has now been passed to the local authority to conclude with the insurance company. The tour company when lockdown first began gave the school two options: either to cancel the tour or defer. After seeking advice from the local authority the only option we had was to cancel the tour as travel restrictions could possibly still be in place come Whitsun next year. Also with the widespread pandemic it was unsure when schools would allow international trips to run again.
The matter was then passed to the insurance company who represent all schools within the county and are dealing with numerous cancelled trips. As you can imagine their workload at the moment is immense but they are working through the claims to try and get them resolved ASAP.
Apologies, that I cannot give a clearer picture as to when you will receive a refund, but rest assured the school is pushing the matter and we are hoping it will be resolved in the near future.
