Chris Dicomidis (WRU Rugby Hub Officer at CCYD)

It’s always a pleasure to report positive news at CCYD regarding our learners and their achievements but its not often we ever mention the fantastic achievements of our staff.
Last week our very own Chris Dicomidis (WRU Rugby Hub Officer at CCYD) collected a very prestigious award, the “Diolch Award” for contribution to the male rugby game.
Chris is responsible for all the rugby training, skills, techniques, extra curricular activities and fixtures for both boys and girls at the school from year seven right through to year thirteen.  He is fully committed to the school and the sport of rugby and has worked tirelessly for the last four and a half years to push our learners to be resilient and reach their full potential.
Under Chris’s tuition the schools rugby teams have won numerous Ospreys Cups, qualified for the Welsh Cup, reached the knock out stages of Urdd 7s and won the Monmouth and Opsreys 7s.  I think you would agree this is a fantastic resumé for the school which is testament to Chris’s excellent coaching.
Chris himself boasts many professional achievements including playing international rugby for Cyprus, Wales U19 and 21s as well as various Universities.
He has also played professionally for the formidable Barbarians before moving to the ever dominant Cardiff Blues for 3 years but now shares his time playing for Pontypridd as well as his WRU Rugby Hub Officer post.

We would like to thank Chris for all his hard work, commitment and enthusiasm as he continues to drive the best from our learners. We are all very proud of you and just wanted to say thank you.
