Matilda Workshop at CCYD
All of the pupils really enjoyed it and were extremely excited to perform their dramatic pieces. The pupils were taught how to explore language and use language to express themselves but also how language can tell us lots about a character before we even start to explore a character. Pupils were asked to create their own Roald Dahl style insult and place into a dramatic piece. These were truly fantastic. They really embraced the language and were truly outstanding in creating their own words. The pupils then performed one of the hit songs from the show with their own improvised moves. It was truly a pleasure to be a part of this. The pupils were extremely well behaved and worked really hard on their performances. This was such a worth while workshop. Ollie, from the Royal Shakespeare Company, was so complimentary about our students and said that he had loved working with them.
